Picture Taken during my fifth and last deployment in 2010-2011 to Afghanistan. During that deployment I was our Battalions Civil Military Operations (S9 CMO) NCOIC. This picture was taken while I was out checking up on Commanders Emergency Response Program (CERP) projects being done in one of our companies AO. | |
NarrativeI signed up for the Army in 2000 a year before I graduated. I Graduated from High School on 7 June, 01 and started Basic Training (BT) 19 June, 01 to become an Infantryman (11B). I was in BT when 9/11 took place. Once I was done with OSUT I went through Javelin Missile School and Airborne School. Then Assigned to 2-187 Inf Regt Raider Rakkasans in Dec 01. In Jan 02 I was deployed to Afghanistan. I would then take part in the invasion of Iraq from 2003-2004 also with 2-187 while there I also went to air assault school. When I returned I pcs’d to fort bragg where I was assigned to 525 MI Bde as the BDE CO psd during another deployment to iraq from 2004-2005 only 9 months after returning from my previous one. I would then be assigned to recruiting duty which I only stayed in for 9 months. I was then reassigned back to the rakkasans, this time in 3-187 Iron Rakkasans where I would deploy two final times. The 2007-2008 deployment to iraq I was the bn lno to bde and in our 2010-2011 deployment I was the bn s9 ncoic. I was deployed five times for a total of 54 months during my time as an infantryman feom 01-11, I reclassed in 2011 as a counterintelligence special agent where I would remain until medically retiring in 2015 due to injuries sustained over my deployments and training as 100% P&T and now also on SSDI because my injuries prevent me from being able to work. |
