NarrativeServed in Company E. of the 118th Indiana Infantry Regiment ('63) Battles included Cumberland Gap, Clinch River, and western N. Carolina. Also listed as serving in Company I. of the 8th Indiana Infantry Regiment ('64-65). Battles included Sheridan's Shenandoah Valley campaign (VA) and campaigns within Georgia and South Carolina. After the war, Freer and family moved to Dakota County, Minnesota where he farmed most of his life. Died and buried in Dakota County in 1922. |
